The county town of Roscommon offers visitors a wide range of accommodation, shopping, historical sites and leisure facilities.

Roscommon town is home to a number of buildings of historical and archaeological significance including Roscommon Castle, Roscommon Abbey and the Old Roscommon Gaol.

For an afternoon with a difference why not visit the Claypipe Museum in Knockcroghery, where you can learn the history of Clay Pipe making and even take part in a demonstration of the pipes being made. Or enjoy an easy 5km walk around Castlecoote Village, a short loop trail that takes you through the Roscommon countryside.
